Where: All layers15 AI agent
AI agents that observe signals, data, and patterns across the organisation and its environment.
Sensing is the front of the loop. The more the system perceives, the better the evidence it can act on later.
Sense agents monitor external signals (market movements, competitor activity, regulatory changes), internal signals (system metrics, user behaviour, operational data), and cross-loop patterns (what is happening across intents that no single team would notice). These agents run continuously and feed the raw material that the Synthesize agents will process.
The quality of sensing directly determines the quality of everything downstream — poor observation leads to poor synthesis, which leads to poor recommendations, which leads to poor decisions. Sense agents should be configured with broad attention but filtered output.
Key principles
- Front of the loop — perception comes first.
- Monitors external signals (market, regulatory, competitive).
- Monitors internal signals (product analytics, ops data).
- The wider the perception, the better downstream decisions.
